Laura Curto, former EAE student, joins Goodyear

Laura Curto is currently doing an internship at Goodyear & Dunlop Tyres as a Brand Marketing Intern. Having completed the Master in Marketing and Sales at EAE Business School, she took the time to talk to us about her time at the School, her plans for the future and what it feels like to form part of this multinational operating on all five continents.

Laura CurtoHow did you react when they called and asked you to join the team at Goodyear?

To be honest, I didn’t expect them to call, but it all happened really quickly. I did an interview with them in the morning and the same day, just a short while afterwards, they called to offer me the chance to join them. So I was really happy. All of a sudden, I has an internship in an extremely large multinational company which, at the end of the day, is exactly what I wanted.

What are your first impressions of the company? What strong points would you highlight?

My first impressions are really good in general. One of the things that I like most is the people. In fact, the team has won several awards for being one of the best places to work. Everyone is extremely friendly and open. We work in an open-plan space, where only the directors have their own office. Another point worth highlighting is that interns form part of the team. There is no type of separation.

What role to currently perform in the company? What is your daily routine like?

I am currently working in the Brand Marketing Department and, besides providing support in all aspects related to that area, I also manage Goodyear’s social media, as well as a corporate blog. Primarily, I spend my time on content creation, focusing on social media and online marketing.

What is your professional goal in both the short and long term?

It is still early days to be talking about long-term goals, but I would like to continue working in a company like this one, an international company that enables me to work in different languages, travel and so on. I see myself in a position similar to the one I am currently in.

There are lots of Business Schools to choose from? Why did you pick EAE?

First and foremost, it was because of the courses it offered. I chose Marketing and Sales, in English, which was a deciding factor. The content was extremely comprehensive and up-to-date. The School not only covered marketing as we have always understood it but also the latest trends and developments.

How has your time at EAE contributed to your professional life?

Organizing tasks, English, which I have been able to consolidate, and contacts, not only in Madrid but all around the world. In my opinion, the employment and internship exchange is really good and the fact that the lecturers teach you using real cases, giving you insight into how the business world really operates.
