As an institution involved in the education of current and future managers, EAE voluntarily commits to permanently improving these principles. The PRME initiative is comprised of the world's main business schools and universities offering managerial training. In Spain, only five business schools take part in this world initiative.
The first initiatives for the development of PRME promoted by EAE include the incorporation of teaching hours devoted to gaining in-depth knowledge of sustainable business management in all of EAE's MBA and Masters programmes; the increase of resources available regarding sustainability and corporate responsibility in EAE's Documentation and Resources Centre; the increase in the number of hours on responsible leadership in MBA and Masters programmes and having a Week of Corporate Social Responsibility in the Madrid and Barcelona headquarters, which includes conferences and meetings with the main business agents carrying out similar initiatives in other sectors.
Miguel Morán, head of External Relations & Business Development of EAE points out that “companies need talented leaders who are ethically trained, and who can not only advance towards the company's goals and comply with their legal and financial obligations, but who are also prepared to face the great impact and current potential of business, as a global force that must play a positive role in society”.
Morán also underlines that “our own organisational practices should serve as an example of the values and attitudes we transmit to our students”. “In the current financial situation, it is essential to understand the fundamental connections between companies and society. The role of companies as a global force is becoming more urgent and complex, and the concepts related to social responsibility and sustainability are gaining recognition as essential elements for success in business management”, explains Morán.
