The Full-Time students took part in the EAE Welcome event for the Masters that have just got under way. It is a time of excitement and nerves for new students keen to get to know the School, the programs and their classmates. At EAE Welcome, the School introduces them to their new Masters and the Professional Careers Service, as well as organizing soft skills and networking activities.
The new students have chosen EAE as a highly-acclaimed university where they will learn and lay the foundations for a great professional future. One such case is Ecuadorian student Micaela Albuja, who has come to Europe for the first time. "I spent a year and a half looking for a Master and I eventually chose an MBA because I want to be a manager or set up my own business in the next few years". Micaela explained that she picked EAE because she liked the School's methodology and she had read about the lecturers and they are very professionals.
Barcelona and the School's international profile are two of the powerful reasons that students come to study at EAE. One such case is Kevin Benítez, an Ecuadorian student on the Master in International Business. "I love Barcelona and EAE is an international school where you can learn from different cultures". Kevin has run his own business since he was 19. Now, at 24, he wants to continue growing. "It was now or never in terms of moving forward in my professional journey". His Danish classmate on the Master in International Business, Cristopher Koch, hopes to learn and study Spanish, which is another reason he opted for EAE.
The students were given an in-depth overview of their programs. "Although I initially planned to do an MBA, I eventually chose to do a Master in International Business because I think it will enable me to grow faster in a company", remarked Paula Aguilera, from Brazil. Luis Guillermo Calderón, a Costa Rican student on the Master in Project Management, explained that he studied civil engineering and has worked in project management, an area in which he wants to train.
The opportunity both to meet their lecturers and take part in the EAE Welcome talks and workshops have ensured that the students are highly motivated to get started on their Masters. Lizete, a Peruvian student on the Master in Marketing and Commercial Management, was really pleased with the welcome the School has given them. "Our lecturer Fátima Vila has explained the program to us in detail. I really rate EAE's standing as a School and its affiliation with the UPC, the minors and all the employability sessions and workshops that I have heard about. I felt a bit lost before but these few days have helped me get to know the School, so I am really motivated and have settled in more".
Moroccan student Elamich loves Barcelona. "In addition, at the university, they are all really friendly and I can ask them if I need anything". Elamich found the program of the Master in International Business really interesting. "It is very practical and comprehensive. Moreover, I really value the fact that it is an international school". Meanwhile, Lucía Salles, a Bolivian student on the Master in Marketing and Commercial Management, found out lots of information about EAE. "I saw all the good feedback on the various networks and Google. I wanted to study marketing and thought that, if the School taught it so well, it was the obvious choice". Lucía wants to grow professionally, strengthen her curriculum and boost her professional career.
The Full-Time students took part in a networking session run by Lluís Soldevila, the Director of the Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, in which they were grouped together by programs and participated in activities to get to know each other better. They then rounded the event off with a few drinks. "In my opinion, these activities are really different and interesting. They are great fun and give us the chance to get to know each other better", explained Mario Barra, a Chilean student on the Master in Supply Chain Management. He added that he thought that the program presentation was ideal, thanks to Miguel Serracanta, the Director of the Master program, who had fulfilled Mario's expectations. "I chose this Master based on my professional experience, the chance to live in Barcelona and EAE's reputation and position in the rankings".
