Nowadays, data is an asset that is increasing in value in all kinds of companies. According to the consultancy Gartner, most data and analytical services will be performed by machines in 2019, but there will be a growing need for workers to process this data. As a result, profiles related to Big Data and Business Intelligence are among those in the highest demand in companies all over the world.
This well-known fact at Management Intelligence Consulting (MIC), a business and technology strategy consultancy specializing in generating innovative, high-quality solutions for Business Intelligence, Business Analytics and Corporate Performance Management, with offices in Madrid and Barcelona, which ran a Company Meeting at EAE Business School's Barcelona Campus.
The company gave an overview of its services and attracted a big audience as it needs a range of different profiles, "particularly those with a technological base, but we are always open to people from various Master programs, because there is no ideal profile to perform this job", explained the company's HR Directors.
MIC's services are designed to boost competitiveness through solutions focused on industry and processes, with tools that enable the whole organization to align in order to achieve the corporate objectives and capitalize on business data, preventing information silos. "We work with the directors of digital transformation in various companies".
MIC's diverse range of solutions creates an integrated environment for planning, simulating and analysis financial data which, in addition, enables operational processes to be managed on a single platform. Understanding the impact of any decision and even supply chain management processes require specific knowledge and platform capacities to be able to cater for the complexity that varied scenarios simulate.
MIC uses business intelligence to apply visual analytics and mobility to empower the organization with data-based decisions. Through data analysis, their clients gain an understanding of the corporate information. Performance management enables them to plan and simulate scenarios, while machine learning is used with business analytics.
At MIC, there is no specific recruitment date, but rather an open process through which candidates are selected to join the company continually. "We invest in training, with a full-time program running for a month and a half, and offering a career plan". We currently need full-time contract staff and we are also looking at the possibility of running internship programs.
The company's HR managers highlighted the value they place on aspects such as proactiveness, "going the extra mile, striving for excellence in terms of the process and the result"; attitude, adding that "knowledge can be acquired but your attitude when faced with a problem can't"; people who want to make a contribution, "when the result of their work makes an impact"; and teamwork. Of course, they also value people with a good command of languages.
During the Company Meeting at EAE, MIC's recruiters also emphasized that they are preferably looking for staff with technical experience, but also people who have studied Business Administration and Management, engineering IT and other Master programs. In short, they want people who are keen to learn and can make a contribution, with a great capacity for understanding and learning, and a passion for technology with a view to providing a response for current problems.
