Carmen Martos, the Director of Career Services and Entrepreneurs at EAE Business School, and Rocío Álvarez-Ossorio, the Director of EAE Lab, introduced Demo Day with the entrepreneurial ventures incubator in the School for five months. Over the period, EAE Business School provides guidance and comprehensive support for startups headed by students.
Rocío Álvarez-Ossorio emphasized aspects such as solidarity, vocational work and the change in mindset because "managing emotions enables us to grow". In addition, she focused on the people who comprise the teams, the work of the mentors and the support they have given each other. "Many of the entrepreneurs come from abroad and they have come to Spain to chase their dreams". In Rocío's opinion, becoming an entrepreneur is "a lifestyle requiring mental strength, the ability to manage uncertainty and resolve problems", as well as highlighting the importance of creating person-based business models "that help to improve society".
Demo Day enhances the visibility of the entrepreneurship incubated at EAE Lab and facilitates the exchange of ideas between investors and entrepreneurs. After the presentations, they all had the chance to interact in a very fruitful networking session. Moreover, the event also provided a golden opportunity to welcome two new projects that have just started the incubation process: Skilled IN and HBL. In total, 10 startup initiatives have been selected for incubation at the launchpad at EAE's Madrid Campus.
