Master in Psychology and Consumer Behaviour

executive MBA

Presentation

Consumption is a human activity that plays a central role in our society, which some refer to as a “consumption society”. The evolution of economic growth and the emergence of new values in societies as a result of advances in social development trigger structural changes in the way that people choose their lifestyles, preferences and consumption habits. This is all set within a context of accelerating social evolution in the midst of a sustainability crisis on a scale that is hard to grasp.

Within this context, understanding the evolution of consumption is an excellent tool for observing social evolution from an economic standpoint with an indirect impact on the detection and evaluation of opportunities for business and the creation of new values that provide a response to the new needs of societies and lifestyles.

The objective of EAE’s Master in Psychology and Consumer Behaviour is to give marketing professionals and entrepreneurs heading new ventures the right tools to understand changes in consumption, society and the economy from the perspective of a member of the public who works and consumes, the two economic activities that form the essential foundation of their personal and social development. This understanding is the result of applying a range of social science paradigms to the phenomenon of consumption, from behavioural economic right through to cognitive psychology, as well as pure behavioural and situational analysis through the opportunities provided by the current availability of huge amounts of data on behaviour.
