Without a doubt, Marketing and Digital Communication are now one of the sectors experiencing the greatest growth in the whole global economy. Among other reasons, this is because of the digital shift that we has witnessed and the need to develop more effective measures for building a relationship with modern customers. We discussed this issue with the Director of EAE’s Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Digital Communication Business School, Francesca Ricaldi, who also gave us her analysis of the current state of this field and explained the benefits of this Bachelor Degree, designed to train leaders in one of the areas with the greatest potential in today’s labour market.

Francesca Ricaldi, why are Marketing and Digital Communication so important nowadays?
Marketing and Digital Communication are essential in the changing market that we now live in. Marketing is the process through which we manage to interpret consumer trends and habits in order to detect potential changes or alterations in their behaviour and the design a strategy based on these discoveries. Digital Communication provides a fascinating tool within the world of Marketing. It enables us to interact with consumers in a closer way than ever before and has increased our capacity to obtain information from them, which we can use to interpret their consumption trends and habits more accurately.
Moreover, Digital Communication has proven to be extremely usefully for communicating the benefits of a product or service directly to consumers, and for enhancing their emotional bond with the brand. This has certainly been a spectacular advance within Marketing because, thanks to this direct communication, consumers have more say and power than ever before.
With respect to EAE’s Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Digital Communication, what is the focus? What methodology does it use to train future Marketing and Communication professionals?
As the name states, the program is focused on the digitization of Marketing. We acknowledge that the near future of Marketing will be based in the digital world to a large extent. With this in mind, our goal is to train our students with the best possible competences in this field.
Our methodology is structured to strike the optimal balances between theoretical concepts and their practical application in business contexts. We strive to ensure that the student put every theoretical concept they learn into practice through a range of practical exercises such as case study resolution, business presentations, research and exploration.
As well as the above, what theoretical and practical knowledge do students acquire on this Bachelor Degree?
EAE students acquire in-depth knowledge in both the strategic and tactical fields. Within the strategic area, they learn about market valuation, consumption trends, customer segmentation, analysing value propositions and different business models. The tactical elements they master include detailed know-how on drafting Marketing plans and executing different Marketing strategies, with a clear focus on the digital strategy, as we mentioned.
EAE benefits from the support and collaboration of over 5,300 partner companies at a global level. How does the internship system work? What companies does the School have alliances for this Bachelor Degree and what do they offer the students?
EAE works with the JobTeaser employment portal, where we post all the internship offers of our partner companies. The students on the Bachelor Degree have access to the employment portal and can register for any of the offers that they are interested in. Our partner companies operate in a wide range of business sectors, including consultancy, banking, mass market, e-commerce, finance and industry, among other.
As soon as the students have successfully completed 120 credits, they can sign internship agreements with our partner companies.
With an estimated employability rate of 95%, what profiles are in the highest demand and which areas have the most professional opportunities?
The areas or company departments in which we see the most professional opportunities for our students are Strategic Consultancy, Communication, Auditing, Digital Marketing, Neuromarketing and Trade Marketing, among other.
Other key areas worth highlighting are Digital Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Commercial/Sales.

EAE has 40 international agreements in place that give students the option to take part of the Bachelor Degree abroad. How does this service work and which are the most common destinations?
On the Erasmus program, students have the option to study in institutions across the EU in countries such as Germany, Denmark, Italy and the Netherlands. EAE also have international agreements with partners in the USA, Canada, Latin America and China. Lately, the destinations in the highest demand are Amsterdam, Krakow, Shanghai, Washington DC and Montreal.
International mobility gives students the chance to discover other study approaches, improve a foreign language, live in a new environment, have new experiences, add value to their record and CV, and gain personal values including autonomy, tolerance and confidence.
With respect to networking, how does EAE this activity that is so important nowadays?
At EAE, we are aware that our students’ academic training is really important, but so is the experience they have with us. With this in mind, the School organizes activities that let the students get to know each other better and network outside the classroom. These activities are very diverse in nature: sports, charity and cultural events, conferences and workshops focusing on updating business knowledge, all culminating with the graduation ceremony.
How does this Bachelor Degree foster entrepreneurship? Do the students have access to the services of EAE Lab?
The students on the Bachelor Degree are part of the School’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. As well as participating in the EAE Lab Pyramid, through a series of workshops, mentoring sessions, networking and guidance, the students have the opportunity to form part of the School’s network of entrepreneurs through the EAE Lab platform. This digital tool enables entrepreneurs to keep a record of all the progress they make over the course of the program, with constant interaction with mentors and experts. In addition, they also have access to the Skills Marketplace, an exclusive EAE Business School service that enables students to offer their specialist services, focusing on a particular activity or skill, as well as searching for members for their teams, depending on their skills. All the members of the ecosystem have the option to visit the profiles of other members of the community, thereby enabling them to share their skills and knowledge digitally.
Moreover, the EAE Lab Pyramid is designed for all participants, regardless of whether or not they are chosen to enter the Propeller phase, to be able to design their business idea using tried and tested methodologies. As part of Babson College’s network of partner schools and universities, EAE Business School is at the cutting edge in the field of entrepreneurship. As they progress through the phases, the participants of program compete to be selected to take part in challenges and events specially designed to test the concepts and methodologies learned over the course of each phase. The aim is for the entrepreneurial training to be give a market experience rather than being limited to an academic concept.
