Talent EAE 2020: over 1,800 students and 120 companies take part

In March, EAE hosted one of the largest employability fairs in the whole of Spain: Talent EAE 2020. Held in both Madrid and Barcelona, the event attracted 1,832 students of EAE Business School who all came to boost their employability by making contact with leading players in the national economy.

Interviews, submission of curriculums, round tables and networking rooms were just some of the activities on the schedule of this employability fair, which over the years has become a leading international event for both students aiming to make contact with companies and companies looking for new talents. Talent EAE 2020 in Madrid

Talent Madrid included 21 activities and welcomed 1,225 participating students!

Talent EAE 2020 was held in Madrid on 4th March at the Complejo Duque de Pastrana, with the participation of 1,225 students and 78 companies running stands, including DHL, Sephora, Bean Suntory and Nationale. Although the event ran from 10:30 to 18:30, the busiest time was from 11:30 to 13:30. Students from a range of programs, such as the Master in Project Management and even the MBA, queued up to make contact with leading companies such as NH Hoteles, Chep and Ebury.

“I have come because I want to make contacts and get to know more companies”, explained Alexis García, a student on the Master in Financial Management at EAE. Laura Pascal, a student on the Master in Events Organization, Sponsorship and Protocol, added that, coming from Latin America, Talent EAE is a great opportunity to interact with the professional world in Spain. “The event has enabled me to keep up-to-date with trends that are extremely important when having interviews”.

A total of 93 interviews and 10 meeting points were held at the event!

Although there were professional vacancies for all kinds of profiles, the positions in the highest demand were those related to Big Data and Business Development. However, several recruiters, such as Laura Pérez from the firm Alten, emphasized that, far more than the specific profile itself, they are looking for people with drive, willingness to give their all and loads of motivation.

“Coming to Talent EAE has help me focus on where I want to go and also to get a better insight into the application process for the various positions”, said Arturo Muñoz, a student on EAE’s Master in Communication and CSR. His classmate on the same Master, Carina Escobar added that the best thing about Talent EAE was the advice she received on perfecting her elevator pitch and curriculum.

Talent EAE 2020 in Barcelona

Talent Barcelona held 15 activities and welcomed 607 students!

In the case of Barcelona, the venue for Talent EAE was the Hotel Catalonia Barcelona Plaza on the city’s iconic Plaça Espanya. A total of 45 companies took part, each with their own stand, holding 60 interviews altogether.

The most popular companies included Deloitte, Booking and DHL, but there was no stand left empty throughout the morning. Students on the MBA and the Masters in Project Management and Supply Chain had the opportunity to meet HR technicians, recruiters and managers from a broad range of sectors, enabling them not only to improve their interview performance, but also expand their network of contacts.

“I came to Barcelona in October and I haven’t found a job yet, but I am hoping that this event will help me, It is a unique opportunity to meet companies face to face”, explained Andrea Ponce, an Argentinian student on the Master in Project Management. Xavi Tournellec, a student on the Master in Supply Chain, added that he is attending Talent EAE because he would like to gain experience in the customer service. “I want to try out a new sector and I know that this event will help me”.

As well as the company stands, Talent EAE in Barcelona also included over 5 round tables and various networking rooms, giving students the opportunity to make contact with the elite of European innovation, as well as learning from the insights of several expert teams on different topics, such as building an attractive profile and curriculum for today’s labour market.

Along the corridors and in the meeting rooms, the atmosphere buzzed with a sense of progress and motivation. Some participants were looking for their first job in Europe, to embark on a new professional career, while other came with the aim of experiencing new sectors and finding new opportunities. While their aspirations may have varied, everybody was there for the same reason: to enhance their employability.
