“The Bachelor Degree has equipped me with knowledge that has helped my performance at Red Bull”
Students at EAE Business School do not only lead the way in terms of postgraduate education, but also at an undergraduate level, as the efforts made in our quest for academic excellence are shared evenly across all the School’s programs. Martina Capdevila, a third-year student on the Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Digital Communication, is a great example of this. We interviewed her to find out more about her experience studying at EAE and her performance at Red Bull, where she currently works.
Martina, tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? What are your passions?
I’m from Granollers but, whenever I can, I escape to the mountains of Andorra, where I can enjoy most of my hobbies. I am passionate about sport, particularly extreme sports. I also love dogs, so losing myself in nature with them is my best way to unwind.
You are taking the Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Digital Communication at EAE Business School. What year are you in? Tell us about the experience.
I am just finishing my third year, so I just have the fourth year to go. I was supposed to be doing the first semester in Canada, but all the exchange programs have been cancelled because of Covid-19. In terms of my experience, it has been really satisfactory. I have had the opportunity to learn from great digital marketing professionals and, most importantly, I have met some fantastic classmates.
You now work at Red Bull. What is the experience like?
Yes, I have been part of the team for two years now. Working at Red Bull is giving me the best experience I have ever had. It is a company where you can enhance your greatest qualities and be the best version of yourself.
What is your role in the company?
I am one of the Student Marketeers and, more specifically, a Student Brand Manager. To put it more clearly, we are the brand ambassadors within the university world. One of our goals is to generate love for Red Bull, and to be at the front of young people’s minds.
The Student Marketeers are in direct contact with the consumers. We help boost the consumption of Red Bull in a range of different occasions and provide support for the sales team, working with athletes and ensuring that consumers have unforgettable experiences at each brand event.
This job gives you the opportunity to maximize your strengths and develop your abilities in sales and marketing. We are also involved in most events on university campuses and take charge of organizing everything and making sure it all turns out great.
Tell us about the selection process. How did you join the company?
I found this opportunity because, at my last university, I was in the sports association and I was in charge of sponsorships. At one of the events, I contacted Red Bull for a potential collaboration and I met the Student Brand Manager, overseeing the partnership with the brand at university events, who told me what was involved in the job, which I later applied for.
How has the knowledge you have acquired on the Bachelor Degree helped you in the job?
This Bachelor Degree is giving me knowledge of digital marketing, both in terms of strategies and online positioning, that is needed in many different areas, particularly in sports marketing.
What type of guidance has the School given you during this time? How has it helped you?
More than guidance, it is more the help that the lecturers have given me to enable me to work during the university timetable. As it is a job that is mainly carried out at universities, I sometimes haven’t been able to attend class in person, and they have never given me any problems about that. In fact, just the opposite, they have done their best to give me solutions.
Where do you see yourself a few years from now personally and professionally? Do you think that EAE Business School will help you achieve these goals?
I would like to continue specializing in sports marketing. As I mentioned, working at Red Bull is one of the best experiences I have ever had and it would be a pleasure to grow and progress within the company. If I don’t end up continuing with the company, I am sure that EAE can help me with its Employment Exchange.
In your opinion, what are the biggest advantages of EAE’s Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Digital Communication ?
Luckily, we are a really small groups in class and, as a result, the communication between the lecturer and the students is very direct, which helps achieve greater attention and understanding in class. Moreover, they give us regular talks on current issues.
Another key benefit is how fast the School adapts to extraordinary situations such as Covid-19. They have managed to give us all the classes and contents online as quickly as possible.
What would you say to any young people who are unsure about taking this Bachelor Degree? Any recommendations?
Muchas Lots of large and small companies are looking for professionals specializing in the digital world. In my opinion, this Bachelor Degree opens up a lot of doorways in the professional world, really setting us apart from the rest.
Thank you very much, Martina!
