At the Graduation Ceremony for EAE's Madrid Campus, the researcher and lecturer Ángel del Castillo received the award for the Best Lecturer on Executive Programs. Ángel expressed his pride at being given the accolade at this emotive ceremony.
You have been named as the Best Lecturer on Executive Programs at EAE Business School. What does this award mean to you?
This award from my students fills me with great pride, bearing in mind the extremely high level of the faculty at EAE Business School.
You are the Director of Executive Programs at EAE and you have worked as a Commercial Director at mass market companies. What value do the students gain from having lecturers with prior professional experience?
In my opinion, professional experience is an added value that enables students to learn more and better. I think that quality tuition has to combine academic knowledge with professional experience.
In your opinion, what aspects have been most valued by the students when awarding you the title of best lecturer?
There are two points, in my opinion, that the students value: empathizing with their problems and helping them to improve their attitude towards themselves and, secondly, transferring my knowledge so that they can successfully tackle the challenges that they will have to face.
How would you describe EAE Business School's Executive students?
Professionals with experience who want to boost their career and develop their executive potential.
In a volatile, uncertain and changing environment, how should professionals prepare?
In the dynamic and changeable world that we live in, being an expert in your field is no longer enough. Companies are driven to hire executives with a global vision of business and, as such, they need a broad knowledge of the different areas of the company.
Training give students who take Executive masters added value. To want extent do they need to be trained?
Value is created or destroyed by making decisions. Therefore, training is vital for transforming information into knowledge, and knowledge into competitive advantages, which are the key to a company's long-term success.
How would you describe students doing a Master program at EAE Business School when they arrive and leave?
The students taking part in these programs are students with an extremely restless drive and a desire to round off their training in a global sense, which are aspect that they achieve by the end of the program.
How important is networking and contact with the EAE Community?
It is essential because it enables students to exchange relevant information to detect business opportunities, thereby generating value for both the student and the company that they work for. By participating in a vibrant community like EAE's, you can ensure that this networking is broadened and sustainable over time.
What advice would you give students who have just graduated?
Your professional life is an obstacle course and the only way to approach it successfully is by training.
