
EAE Business School offers its students a residential program at IDEAS located at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)
- The Business in Society residential program is designed to increase the participants’ ability to design, monitor and evaluate programs and policies that meet the growing public expectations of business in both developed and fragile social contexts.
- Participants will be given the opportunity to learn to align financial and non-financial objectives more effectively and to tackle challenges such as the demands of consumers, employees, media and investors.
- The program runs in 2021 in London.
EAE Business School will offer a summer international residential program, Business in Society, at IDEAS, a think tank based at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the UK. This is one of the exceptional optional programs offered to all students and alumni. It will run in 2021.
The aim of the residential program is for participants to gain a better understanding of how to align financial and non-financial objectives and how to tackle challenges such as the demands of consumers, employees, media and investors. In addition, the residential program strives to increase the students’ ability to design, monitor and evaluate programs and policies that meet the growing public expectations of business in both developed and fragile social contexts.
The Business in Society program at IDEAS is designed to ensure an active learning experience for the students. It comprises different components designed to deliver a comprehensive program and enrich the students’ experience through a selection of sessions with leading specialists, fostering teamwork among the group and facilitating networks of contacts for the future.

The program covers the following issues:
- The global context - what social business needs to know: regulations, industry standards, agendas such as the SDGs, business and human rights, public activism on issues like Black Lives Matter and ‘Build Back Better’ COVID-19 responses.
- Key concepts and how to operationalize them: stakeholder capitalism, corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, inclusive economies, human security, conflict sensitivity, and positive peace.
- Impact investing: how to implement environmental, social and governance (ESG) norms, and new approaches to analysing and managing non-financial risk.
- Sustainable development: understanding the importance of Global Value Chains (GVCs).
- Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs): key ideas linking the concept of sustainability with the public sector.
- The relationship between government and business: strategies to deal with changes - multi-stakeholder partnerships and other collaborations.
- Interactive group discussions with academics and practitioners.
- Guided strategy development using case studies from different countries and sectors. Each participant selects one case from a list and prepares a brief presentation of responses to the given challenge, using key lessons from the course.
