Are you ready to find out more about digital transformation and recruitment 4.0?
Digital Transformation
As Cristina Marques explained, nowadays, everything is very different from how it was a few years ago. Jobs have changed. There are new technologies, new tool. Work has been automated and, although several jobs have disappeared, many new ones are being created.
According to the World Economic Forum, by 2025, it is estimated that, thanks to the digital revolution, 133 million new jobs will be created, the speaker emphasized. This means that there will be lots of opportunities. However, to access them, we will have to be prepared.
How can we prepare? The automation of the labour market is now a reality. Nobody can stop this process. Many tasks and functions will soon be performed by software and robots. Therefore, the professionals of the future have to embrace these new tools wholeheartedly but, even more importantly, they have to focus on their soft skills because, in the face of so much technical competition, human qualities will be key differential features in recruitment processes.
The Future of Work: Recruitment 4.0 and New Paradigms
So, what does the future of work hold? The expert explained that the labour market of this and the next few years will be characterized by trends such as working from home and greater flexibility.
“We are already seeing lots of changes”, emphasized Marques. “For instance, target-based working. In-person work will take on a secondary role, with both companies and workers having to focus more on working towards targets in order to fulfil their duties without time or location affecting their performance”.
Moreover, globalization seems to be a key feature of this new path forward. “Nowadays, people work together from different parts of the world. I have a colleague in Hungary who works in our team. Such cases will become increasingly common. However, this format of working will depend on time differences and language proficiency. A Hungarian professional can work for a Spanish company, but how can they be effective unless they speak Spanish?”.
Recruitment 4.0
As is to be expected, staff recruitment has undergone great transformations, the most important of which include the following:
Almost everything can be digital
Work not the only thing that is becoming increasingly digital, but also the processes for companies to incorporate new team. As a result, we will increasingly see more interviews, discussion groups and other procedures conducted remotely.
Greater focus on soft skills and learning agility
As we mentioned, soft skills will increasingly become crucial assets for professionals looking for new opportunities, as they are the distinguishing feature that recruiters are looking for. Learning agility and adaptability are also essential qualities in a changeable environment in which new tools and technologies are assimilated extremely quickly.
Social media
Social media are also fulfilling a strategic role, being used, firstly, to attract hidden talent or, in other words, passive talent that is not actively seeking to change their job. Secondly, social media are used for branding, to create a community and build a solid base of followers in which you can search for new talents.
Internal mobility, upskilling and dual training will also become challenges and, at the same time, allies for companies that want to keep operating throughout digital transformation, without losing sight of their social responsibility with respect to their employees.
Artificial Intelligence and New Tools
Lastly, Marques spent the final few moments of her presentation discussing the impact of artificial intelligence on the tools that are set to shape the labour market now and in the future.
The most influential tools include the following:
